The finished product! Did you have a chance to watch our live, behind-the-scenes look at one of the videos we shot this week? Viewers got to see me play stunt coordinator as I set up a couch cushion to hopefully absorb Penn as he did his first dive jump. Then we took you inside our pantry as Penn scaled the shelves to…hide on the ceiling? I’m not sure what to call this move but you just have to see it to believe it.
Here’s the backstory of the concept:
We have a simple social contract in our house - if you open a clean dishwasher, you need to empty it. Some people in our family cough Penn and PC cough have been known to open it and sneak away hoping no one saw them open it. But of course, I’ve seen it.
In today’s video, we take this to the extreme as Penn dons his best samurai look and tries to escape my detection…with an epic soundtrack playing. You heard that right, the Mission Impossible theme on the recorder. Penn always knew those 4th grade recorder classes would pay off!
We Do Our Own Stunts
During our live, we showed viewers our takes and they helped us decide on which one to put in the final edit. We’ve never let people into our process like this before and I have to be honest…it’s awesome! We are nothing without people watching our content so we feel really lucky that people want to watch along and help decide what they think is funnier.
We hope to go live again in the future and hope you will join us. As always, we welcome any suggestions in the comments below on what you hope to see on this channel!
Behind the Scenes: Dishes Impossible Shoot
We had a blast going live for the first time on Substack! We hope you enjoy seeing a small look behind the curtain of what it takes to make a video. No pantries or husbands were harmed in the making of this video.
I feel seen!
Poor women has to live with such a man!
